This blogging thing is no longer new and scary. With a couple semesters in the hole successfully blogging, I would like to think that I have gotten the hang of the whole thing by now. The blog has really started to take on a personality of its own. I’d like to think that this blog has thoughtful insight, edgy commentary, and believe it or not, even a little humor. I guess the jury is still out on some of that but being the confident guy I am, we’ll go ahead and assume I’m doing at least an average job here. I try to keep the reader engaged by consistently incorporating media or pictures. Just something to add to the text. I don’t think anybody likes huge text blocks. I think an easy way to maintain focus on that task is to constantly ask myself “Is this a blog I would like to read myself?”.
A little about me personally. I grew up just outside of Philadelphia. More specifically I am from a small suburb called Wyndmoor. Nothing too exciting but it is a nice quiet town that has treated me great over the years. I graduated from Springfield Township High School in Montgomery County. I was very involved there and am thankful to receive the education that I did. Upon arriving at St. Joseph’s University I found that there are not a lot of people that graduated from public school that decided to attend a Catholic university. During high school I had the chance to play football for four years as well as serving as the student council president my senior year; a job that required a great deal of responsibility.
Right now I call the town of Manayunk home. I’m living there in a 5-bedroom house with a great bunch of guys. Ironically we are all business majors (I;m Marketing… very similar to Communications in my eyes). I am the lone wolf taking a considerable amount of classes in the Arts and Science school by virtue of my Communications minor
As far as this blog goes, I want my audience to be everybody. That sounds kind of bold but I’m going to stick by it. I think there’s a little bit in this blog for everyone. As much as I love my classmates (what’s up Ethics in Communications), I want the audience for this blog to extend far beyond the classroom. In fact, I try to add fun posts as well so the subject matter is not strictly academic. That’s my little sales pitch but I really think this blog can be appealing to a wide variety of people. Readers enjoy!
